After testing false positive for COVID-19, I realized how real the fear of social stigma is amongst patients who’ve tested positive. While I knew how important it is to notify those I’ve been in close contact with, I was scared of being judged and blamed.
So, I created www.mytrustedcircle.org, an anonymous texting service that partners with healthcare providers/public health departments to ONLY give access to patients who’ve tested positive. Patients can notify up to 10 individuals by sending a pre-filled text message to those they may have exposed. We avoid misuse by using one-time access tokens and partnering with COVID testing sites to distribute them only to patients who’ve tested positive.
