When Apple opened the App Store in 2008, the first apps we saw were buttons that made fart sounds and beer sloshing around the screen. This early adoption period is often called, the “Fart App” phase. I believe face filtersare the fart apps of AR.
I want to look beyond the face—I want to customize the world around us. At first glance, my side project is about transforming restaurants into their pop-culture counterparts. However, the bigger picture is anything in the futurecan be modified with AR. The world doesn’t need to be experienced how others before us have designed it.
