South Korea is a lively place steeped in tradition. Many of its temples are situated next to modern buildings of the cities that now surround them, creating juxtaposition. The colors on the buildings represent wood, fire, earth, metal and water. They are meant to let the good spirits in and keep the bad spirits out.
